At her heaviest, Johanny Garcia weighed nearly 400 pounds. She struggled to get out of bed in the morning, felt frequently exhausted, and experienced difficulty walking. When she would attempt to walk, she often fell on the floor, sometimes lying there for hours at a time, waiting for one of her family members to arrive to help her up. On top of her own struggles, Garcia’s weight also began to affect her children. Feeling less tired and more productive, Garcia found herself more present around the house, able to help out and spend more time with her children.
